A new movement has risen. Have you heard of it? Yeah, #MeToo. (Yes, that is a pun.)
But if you haven't, let me tell you a little bit about it:
On January 20, 2018, there held the anniversary Women's March. People all around the world showed up and showed their support. They came to support the women and men who shared their stories of inappropriate behaviour in the form of sexual harassment. News, social media and all sorts of media have shun the light on this topic.
And now it's my turn!
Sexual harassment is definitely a topic that deserves to be talked about on media. It's beautiful to see so many supportive people all around the world opening their ears to the people who have stories to tell. But it's also very shocking to see scary stories and articles like this one.
Toronto Star posted an article named "#Metoo resurrects shocking stories from age 5 to 55"

I recommend reading it. Take a few minutes now and read a few of them. It allows you to open an ear for the victims who were affected my these horrid occurrences. Reading it will help you fully understand their experiences and what kind of injustice is going on in the world.
It's overall a great thing finding so many people taking a stand to this and banding up; listening and understanding each other. Victims from this injustice sometimes did not have anyone to talk to. But now, they have the biggest group of people having their backs. The Internet.
Because of the support from the media and the Internet, the victims affected by these things they had no control of, were given an ear. People (including myself) who gave their ear,
listened now know how bad these happenings are and will continue to spread awareness on the #MeToo campaign.
These kind of movements like #MeToo will change the world.

ReplyDeleteHAAHAHAHAHA! that pun was HILARIOUS. Sexual harassment is very topical and deserves to be talked about. I didn't have the time to read the article you posted because I was so busy winning games in fortnite and eating lean cuisine in my bedroom. Your opinion on this topic reminded me of the time I was in my room. That's it....
